Well color me surprised!

As part of the web re-branding/re-invigoration I reviewed the analytics for The Super Blog and for the YouTube channels and… well, frankly, I was very surprised.

Turns out that there were a lot more of you that have been watching our little experiments than I thought!

It certainly wasn’t Gangam Style numbers, but it was significantly better than I thought. Numbers good enough to warrant doing more, and getting a fire under my ass to finish the sketches that we shot actually edited and up.

So, to help smooth the transition, I’ll be posting some of the audience favorites over the next few weeks as we get the new material ready for release.

They’ll be released on the FAN PAGE and if you want you can subscribe to WIGGY WEBS and get new videos as they are released.

See you next time!

You ever want to know what I’d look like as a bobblehead?

Well now you can!

Thanks to the folks at One & Only Creations, Inc. there is now a bobblehead of Disco Curtis in the world.

I’ll be doing a short commercial/video for them and this was made for that.

More details when have them about where you can see the finished video, but for now enjoy my stellar disco move.

See you next time!

Ray on Funny or Die!

Some of you may recognize my father-in-law, Ray, from some of the Wiggy Webs experiments we did a year or so ago. Well, it managed to land him a gig on a video now featured on FunnyorDie! Follow the link above to see it at the site and rate it, or just watch it here:

This Is Cool

My friend, Dean, is a pretty neat guy. He’s a graphic designer by trade, but is also a bit of a philosopher, perpetual student of the world and a man willing to experiment on himself. For nearly a decade he has done different year long challenges to test/better himself. Last year he did one creative thing a month. Everything from building furniture to shooting video to shadow puppetry. It’s admirable to see him perform these activities. I highly encourage you follow the links above and check it out.

Yesterday I received a thank you note from Dean for commenting on his blog of the event. It’s silk screened art on some of the paper he made at home. That’s the picture on top.

Have you ever challenged yourself? Maybe not for a whole year, or is that how you treat New Years resolutions? Tell me about it in the comments.

See you next time!

Blatant Plug – Not For Me, For A Friend

This is Jeff. Can you tell from the picture that he’s a vegan?

One of my oldest and closest friends in the whole world is Jeff Garvin. We have known each other longer than most of my students have been alive and have been through enough together that we can be considered family. He was an actor, toured in a rock band and now he’s an author. He’s started a new blog and he is trying some neat things with it to cover the many aspects of his life. He just did these two about creativity that I enjoyed, especially since I’m trying to get more done creatively so check them out: 6 Steps To Creative Fulfillment and Incantation For Writing.

You can subscribe to his blog and check out his Facebook Fan Page.

He has strong opinions and convictions and you might not always agree with him, but he’s a good writer and he stands behind and defends his arguments well. I hope you enjoy it.

See you next time!

Diet Mountain Dew + Curtis = Commercial

So last month I mentioned that I was shooting a commercial with fellow Sabrina the Teenage Witch alum Jenna Leigh Green thanks to our friend Joel Michaely (also from Sabrina). We weren’t really allowed to talk details before, but now the commercial is out and ready for the world!

See you tomorrow!

Workout, Water & Ray

I started my new workout on Monday (which is today as I’m writing but yesterday when this posts) which excludes the gym (I just don’t make the time to make the 1.5 mile trip) and takes away all the excuses that I manage to make for myself.  I really enjoyed it!  Frankie is my cardio and then I use body resistance (push-ups, bicycle crunches and I’m going to add pull-ups and chin-ups) for all the muscle stuff.  I never had a desire to be a  “buff guy” and my body type isn’t one where “buff guy” was going to happen, but I am definitely growing a gut (thanks early 30’s!) and I don’t like that.  I’ll let you know how it’s going.

I’ve been really dry the last few days.  Between the heat an running the A/C I’ve had a decent thirst and I’m drinkin’ water…

I really thought I was gonna’ take that somewhere.  In my brain I had a train of thought about drinking water that made sense to write but then I wrote it and it boiled down to “I was thirsty so I had water.”  That is not interesting.  It is anti-climatic and disappointing though.

So, to finish this up I’ve got the new “Story Time with Ray” video. Enjoy!

See you tomorrow!

I’m Featured on The Shmimcast!

Quick post to point you to episode #5 of Shmimcast, the podcast all about Improv Shmimprov!  You can get it in iTunes and here: www.ShmimCast.com

If you’re a fan of Improv Shmimprov then these are great podcasts about how the show got started and insights into the players.  For people new to Shmimprov it might be a little too inside baseball, but I think it’s still worth a listen.

Oh, and the whole reason why I’m plugging this is because I’m featured on episode 5!  At least check out that one.

And come to a live Shmimprov show: www.improvshmimprov.com.

See you tomorrow!
