Here is a great 10 minute movie about the history of pit bulls. History, stigma and real profiles of real dogs. Check it out and comment.

Blog Epic Fail!
Oh, I’m laid low in my shame about how poorly I’ve kept up with my blog. It’s been nearly a month since my last posting and the whole idea of “making sure I write once a day” and “project 365 2010” have completely fallen off the rails. It’s not that there isn’t good reason – getting married, several projects all moving forward and starting work on a new documentary – but I’m not a fan of excuses, I prefer results and the current result on this blog is failure.
So I started asking myself what I should do next? Should I keep up Project 365 2010? I have a bunch of pictures that are ready to be uploaded, but I’ve definitely missed many days and so it’s starting to feel like the project is actually getting in the way of itself. It’s also gotten in the way of general blogging since I feel like I need to go back to catch up to what hasn’t been posted – but there are so many things happening RIGHT NOW that my brain has a really hard time focusing on things that happened last month when I really want to talk about things happening today.
So this is what I’ve decided to do – I’m going to post the last remaining pictures I have for Project 365 2010 right here – in this very blog – with no remarks or days and then the project will officially be over. The blog will hopefully begin again as a daily thing since I’ll be able to mobile blog again without worrying about the pictures. The end of 2010 is going to be CRAZY busy and there will still be a bunch of pictures, but I think it’s time to drop the whole “picture a day” deal.
Here are the pics!

Project 365 9-26-2010 Monkey Business
Went on a walk with the wife and the dog today and we stopped for coffee at the Monkey Business Cafe. It’s a little gem in off-downtown Fullerton where there serve coffee and food. The coffee is organic and free-trade and they even make coffee ice cubes for their iced coffee!
They are also a nonprofit.
That was surprising to me. This is their sign:
It made me want to know what their mission is, and I didn’t see anything in or around the store. I’m going to ask the next time I go in because I’m not sure if it’s a charity thing, if it’s a place to sell goods from poor countries or what? I want to know how good my inner liberal is supposed to feel.

Project 365 9-24-2010 Family
I was on the freeway coming back from L.A. when I saw this sticker on the back of a car:
If you squint you can see that it is a guy, a girl and a dog as a little family. With the exception of the fact that Frankie is a pitbull and not a grey hound as pictured that describes our little family pretty well. With a lot of our friends having babies or trying to have babies it can feel a bit strange being the only couple that is satisfied with a dog-child, but Frankie is wonderful and I talk about him like he’s a person so it all works out as far as I’m concerned.

Project 365 8-26-2010 The Little Things.
It’s moments like this that make me so happy:
What you don’t see on the other side is Rene curled up and sleeping on my shoulder.
I’m a happy man.

Project 365 8-21-2010 Babies.
So, yes, Rene and I are married. We don’t know about the whole “having babies” thing, but it seems like everyone around us is having them! Today we helped to celebrate our friends Kristin and Jim as they welcomed their new addition to their home.
Baby Nolani (sp?) is adorable, but there were another six or thirty babies in that room all busy being cute.
The difference between married no kids and married with kids becomes wholly apparent when you are one of few married couples without in a room full of marrieds with. The vocabulary is different, the food is different, the furniture is different, it’s a whole different world. I’ve known people with kids my whole life, but as i get older I notice the differences more. I still don’t know how I feel about the whole thing.
Right now we have a dog and he is a wonderful dog who is as precious to us as any child and that’s good enough for me.
Normally I’d pop up pictures of the party, but I’m not a fan of posting pictures of kids so today’s picture is of Rene enjoying a finger full of frosting from the AWESOME cake they served at the party:
I love cake.
Oh, and we had fun with physics as we played with water droplets on a tablecloth that resists moisture:

Project 365 8-20-2010 Great Day &The Dog
GREAT DAY TODAY! Just great! It seems like my best meetings happen on Mondays and Fridays and this week totally followed that pattern.
Even better than the business possibilities is the fact that I’m that much closer to achieving my goal of being 100% out of ALL debt in less than five years! It feels to good to be on this road.
Originally the picture for today was of the Hollywood sign, since all of my good news came while I was in Hollywood, but the picture sucked so I decided to use this:
Frankie loves chasing bubbles and I think that the bubble guns we got for the elopement may be his favorite new toy!
Sorry for not being more descriptive about details regarding work and stuff, but it just isn’t appropriate to list that stuff here… yet.

Project 365 8-19-2010 The Dog.
I forgot to write this blog on the 19th. Because of that I really don’t remember much about the day. I looked back at the calendar to remind myself but it was pretty bland – I was mostly in the car traveling from one meeting to the next and since I don’t have much of a memory of that day I’m figuring that not much noteworthy stuff happened.
Anyway, when I got home the dog was so happy to see he that he fell asleep on the floor:

Project 365 8-4-2010 Business Lunch Shows Me Art
You know what I got to eat today for lunch?
A lobster Cobb salad.
You know why I had a lobster Cobb salad?
Because my meeting was in Bel Air and in Bel Air you are either the Fresh Prince or you eat a Cobb salad with a sea spider in it.
It is one of the benefits of my job that I get to do things like this. Sure it’s frustrating, it’s nearly impossible to get anything financed and occasionally you run into some of the most UN-scrupulous people the world can offer, but a nice lunch with like minded individuals can make it all worth it. Two of the finance guys that I met with today got their start as physicists – I had a meeting with rocket scientists who ended up in finance. Apparently it’s not uncommon since it is easy for rocket scientists to do complicated math in their heads. It was facinating. We had an enlightening conversation about distribution and some new ideas about where to get financing for my projects (which was nice) and as we sat there I was in the correct seat to see this piece of art:
That fluffy thing is a dog and, yes, they are sharing a noodle. Very Lady and the Tramp in a species co-mingling kind of way. I saw this painting and first thought, “this has probably happened in this restaurant.” My second thought was, “we are only a million dollars away from Rene and Frankie doing the same thing.”
Maybe not even a million dollars, might just be ten bucks.
Or a saw buck.
See you tomorrow!
