I’m not going to be waxing poetic or anything on today’s blog, it’s all about the picture today.
Frankie and I are starting to look more and more alike – we even sleep alike:
See you tomorrow.

Today was a good day!
I like it when the week starts off with progress and today progress was made! I started a new plan today to help get stuff on the old plan moving a little bit quicker. Really a lot of this will be talked about in the Wiggy VonSchtick Blog later in the week, but it was nice to be motivated.
On a completely unrelated note, Frankie’s cousin, Roxy the mini-poodle, is staying with us. She really loves Frankie and has been following him around all week. She’s started to fall into his routine which includes being with him as he looks out the window – which is today’s picture:
I wish I could say more, but it will ruin the surprise!
See you tomorrow!

Happy Birthday America!
Rene, Frankie and I had a very full Fourth! We started at the block party on her brother’s street. They do it every year with food, a giant inflatable water slide and a bike parade that we missed because the alarm didn’t go off.
I didn’t mind that the alarm didn’t go off.
They had a taco guy who made tacos right off a small portable grill which were delicious! Between the tacos, taquitos and salad I was pretty stuffed – and I managed to miss the cupcakes which I could have totally powered down had there still been one.
Frankie even got into the spirit with patriotic bandana, which is today’s picture:
After the first party we took Frankie home and joined Dean at at new friend Roger’s house! He’s a voice actor who voiced Chris Redfield in Resident Evil 5 and a whole bunch more, but I’m a R.E. geek so Chris Redfield was enough for me. He and his lovely girlfriend Steph were marvelous hosts and were very kind to open their home to us. We floated in the pool, had some drinks, Roger grilled meat – that I eventually made room for – and we played some very hard core air hockey in his game room.
Seriously, the air hockey was hard core! We played with four pucks at a time and played fifteen minute games. Very active! I have bruises forming on my wrist and a sore spot on my palm from the thing that you hit the puck with. We’ll see how those heal.
Then too finish off the evening Rene and I burned sparklers.
Like I said, full day.
See you tomorrow!

Rene and I didn’t do JACK today except exercise, walk the dog and eat.
OK, that’s not true, we did other stuff but nothing of real consequence. Since I usually have to work on weekends we really took the time to enjoy the fact that we didn’t have anywhere that we needed to be.
There is something delightfully luxurious in nothing.
Today’s picture is of my favorite candy bar:
We bought candy today too.
See you tomorrow!

It’s a delightful Sunday and Rene, Frankie and I are doing as little as possible. When I got home from teaching my brain literally shut down and I just kind of stood in places and responded to whatever was in the room…

Woke up.
Morning meeting meant morning commute so I stopped for coffee at 7-11 and got freaked out by the fact that you can now buy not only Farmville, Yoville and Mafia Wars gifts cards at 7-11 but also Farmville ice cream and bottled water. between that and the fact that 7-11 is now selling their own brand of beer (Game Day) I think that we may be seeing the biggest rise in 7-11 since the invention of the Slurpy.
Meeting went well then just paperwork and phone calls. My days are starting to take on a sameness that I’m not comfortable with – I don’t feel any significant movement and it is frustrating! Still, I’m gonna’ keep on keepin’ on ‘cuz that’s the only way to get the work done.
We celebrated Rene’s sister-in-law’s birthday and today’s picture is of Rene and Frankie chillin’ in the backseat:
See you tomorrow!

Frankie got his sutures out today! Finally our Frankie-stein is one step closer to being just Frankie again! While were waiting in the lobby at the vet’s office Frankie met a girl named Jasmine. She’s a Lab and they ended up making out, like, the whole time in the lobby. Her owners were very nice and it really helped Frankie relax to have a friend in the lobby. It took the doctor and myself to drag him across the linoleum so that they could take out the staples, such a sad sight!
Today’s picture is actually a twofer! It’s before and after pics of Frankie:
Also my mom told me that she believes that my bathroom is haunted. I’m about twenty feet from it right now waiting for something spooky to happen. Maybe that will be my picture for tomorrow.
See you tomorrow!

As you’ve probably noticed these blogs are REALLY late. I’m going to pretend that I’m writing on Saturday.
Woke up.
Taught.
Came home.
It was a happily mellow kind of day… until the evening.
Let me start with what was easy about it – the morning and afternoon went exactly as planned, and when I got home Frankie and I played with his stretchy hippopotamus – a recent favorite toy. We tugged and chased and whipped it around. Unfortunately we were a little too much for the hippo ‘cuz he ended up like this:
It’s OK, though, the stretchy part is still in one piece and Frankie is still a really big fan of it.
Now to the evening…
…I have a habit of over booking. I don’t ever intend to do it but I do, and really it wouldn’t be such a big problem if there weren’t so much time required to travel places, but it’s something I’m still working on. My best friend Jeff had his birthday party tonight and I also needed to be at an Improv Shmimprov show at 11pm.
We managed to make both events, but there was more than a little stress making it happen. It’s nights like this that remind me that I REALLY need to focus on my time management, especially as life gets busier.
See you tomorrow!

As you’ve probably noticed these blogs are REALLY late. I’m going to pretend that I’m writing on Thursday.
Woke up.
Took Frankie to the vet at 7am. He had a growth that needs to be removed. More on that later.
Went to baby sit my nephews.
Went to an audition. That went really well! Got really lucky and found a parking spot right in front of the building with over an hour left on the meter! It was pretty cool and a VERY rare treat in L.A. Today’s picture is of the building:
Then I went to pick up Frankie and found out that the growth was much bigger than we thought, it went deep beneath the skin and now he has a three inch scar on his neck. I’d show a picture but it’s just too sad. We’re calling him Frankie-stien until he heals.
See you tomorrow!

Happy Fake Holiday Designed Only for Drinking! I know that there is supposed to be a connection to Mexican Independence or something, but I have since been told by my Mexican friends that the only place you’ll see Cinco de Mayo celebrations are in Mexican restaurants and in Tijuana for tourists. If I am wrong I welcome any education on the subject. Please post it to the comments.
EDIT: Just found out that Cinco de Mayo celebrates the unexpected victory of the Mexican army against the formidable French army in the 1800’s. Wikipedia confirms that Mexicans don’t really celebrate it.
I found out my dog has made a routine for himself. As I’ve been home with him I have learned how he likes to spend his day and it goes a little something like this:
Then the rest of the afternoon is spent doing the last three things until Rene gets home. For a dog with not a care in the world, he has a schedule and he keeps to it.
I forgot to mention yesterday, because I was so frustrated with my shift/up arrow accident, that I did my part to help net neutrality. Check out this post on the Wiggy VonSchtick blog. Stuff like this is more important to anyone that uses a computer than you probably realize. Yes, that means YOU! This is really important and decisions are being made that will affect not just your connection to the internet but also your WALLETS, and I know that’s important to everyone.
The preparations for tomorrow night’s Iron Man double feature are now complete. I picked up the last set of tickets at the theater tonight. I completely forgot that it was Cinco de Mayo and got stuck in the traffic from a sobriety check. My turn was before the check-point, but the back-up was still pretty bad. Sounded like good times at the El Torito, though! They had a big ol’ inflatable Corona can, which is the only decoration I need for any party.
Today’s picture is of the tickets:
As a weird side note, I think the left side of my face is evil. All of my break outs are happening on the left side of my face. Right side looks like a grown-up, left side looks like a 14 year old boy.
See you tomorrow!
