Project 365 9-28-2010 Multi-Task!

This is Multi-tasking:

  • Editing computer – Check!
  • Zombie Love script for memorization – Check!
  • Email open for movie stuff – Check!

What isn’t visible is my phone with all the IM’s and other email account.

This is why I’m not keeping up with my blogs.

See you tomorrow.

Project 365 9-22-2010 Catching Up

Wow!  Apparently I’m really bad at maintaining a blog while I’m moving, rehearsing a new play, looking for film funding, shopping reality programing, teaching, getting a corporation back on it’s feet and planning a wedding.  I apologize for my dereliction of blog duties and for the passive aggressive way that I just talked about how busy Rene & I have been.

As you have seen from the pictures that I did remember to take over the last few weeks we’ve been up to a lot!  I still want to revisit my day at the L.A. Time Festival of Food & Wine – I emcee’d right next to the stage that I shot two of three seasons of Sabrina the Teenage Witch on – but I’ve finnally caught up so I want to talk about today and what it makes me think of: sleep, Taco Bell and how fast time has been moving.

Sleep, due to the lack of it.  there’s just too much to do.

Taco Bell because for some reason I’ve had a craving for it the last couple days and I finally gave into to it today.  We’ll see how my colon fares tomorrow.

Time flying because it just is!  I started working at 8am today and it was 5pm before I knew it!  There is still so much to do.  I have three emails to write that I’ve been meaning to get out since Monday – guess that’s what Thursday is for.

Rene and I are in a new play this fall called “Zombie Love”.  It opens soon and Rene and I will be getting even less sleep as we do rehearsals.  Here’s a picture of the script:

Now I’m going to bed.  Hopefully I’ll get my desktop fixed soon.

See you tomorrow!

Project 365 8-20-2010 Great Day &The Dog

GREAT DAY TODAY!  Just great!  It seems like my best meetings happen on Mondays and Fridays and this week totally followed that pattern.

Even better than the business possibilities is the fact that I’m that much closer to achieving my goal of being 100% out of ALL debt in less than five years!  It feels to good to be on this road.

Originally the picture for today was of the Hollywood sign, since all of my good news came while I was in Hollywood, but the picture sucked so I decided to use this:

Frankie loves chasing bubbles and I think that the bubble guns we got for the elopement may be his favorite new toy!

Sorry for not being more descriptive about details regarding work and stuff, but it just isn’t appropriate to list that stuff here… yet.

See you tomorrow!

Project 365 8-12-2010 Crepes & A Cut

Had a bit of a change in plans, which is never bad as far as I’m concerned.

Unless it is bad, then it’s very upsetting.

But today was not upsetting, it was exciting!  Since my morning was suddenly free I visited my friend Dean’s house where he was hosting a brunch which consisted of crepes, both sweet and savory, and roasted potatoes and coffee and mimosas.

I’m not a very big fan of mimosas, but the coffee was very good, as was the food and so was the company!  Had the extra bonus of seeing a filmmaker friend of mine unexpectedly!  We were able to talk shop and swap some contacts, always nice to do.  And I got my haircut.

But the highlight of my day that wasn’t connecting with good friends was when I got a picture text from my director Zeke:

Apparently the Wiggy logo is making the rounds!

See you tomorrow!

Project 365 7-20-2010 Tuesday

Today is Tuesday of the unintended “Week of Getting Things Done!”  (Imagine the part in quotes in a booming, echoy voice.)

I wrote a to-do list on Sunday night of all the things that either need to be or I wanted to get done by Friday of this week.  It’s the whole sheet of paper and I’ve been adding a thing here or there as they come up.  As of this evening I have checked off about a third of it so if I keep up at this rate I should TOTALLY have the whole list complete by Friday!

By the way, totally off topic, my use of the word “totally” came back into the fold during the writing of “Stupid Teenagers Must Die!” when we were writing 80’s catch phrases and terms into the script.  Back then I figured that it might be a problem getting 80’s phrases stuck in my vocabulary but only one phrase stuck: “totally.”  I annoy myself at how often I use it, but at least I’m not saying “exactly” every other sentence like I was in 2005.

Anyway, back on task, originally the picture for today was going to be of the list that I’m doing so well on…

…but then I realized how much kinda’ personal information was on that sheet of paper so instead you get a cute picture of Pete the chihuahua chewing on his favorite toy:

Ain’t that cute?

The day today blew by like a flash and as I look back on it and try to think of interesting things to write about all I can remember are emails and the phone ringing.  And working out.  I feel very strong right now.

See you tomorrow!

Project 365 7-12-2010 Motivated!

Today was a good day!

I like it when the week starts off with progress and today progress was made!  I started a new plan today to help get stuff on the old plan moving a little bit quicker.  Really a lot of this will be talked about in the Wiggy VonSchtick Blog later in the week, but it was nice to be motivated.

On a completely unrelated note, Frankie’s cousin, Roxy the mini-poodle, is staying with us.  She really loves Frankie and has been following him around all week.  She’s started to fall into his routine which includes being with him as he looks out the window – which is today’s picture:

I wish I could say more, but it will ruin the surprise!

See you tomorrow!

Project 365 6-25-2010 Friday

Today was weird.  Lot’s of energy, lot’s of ideas, but not a lot of places to put it.

That’s not true, there are actually too many places to put it and I didn’t know what to focus on.

Instead I just focused on finding financing – but with creative ideas!

It was a far cry from what my creative muscles wanted to be doing, but no crying over spilled milk.

It did lead me back to my favorite phrase to ever be put on a button though:

The weekend is full, but I’ve got plans for next week.

See you tomorrow!

Project 365 6-23-2010 Still Sick, Kinda’.

Ugh, everything hurts.

Pain is no excuse to stop, though, so I’m still goin’ but I’m not feeling all that motivated to write.  No idea when I’ll actually post these.

Got a bag of footage and a hard drive for a new sizzle that I’m working on.  It’s also today’s picture:

See you tomorrow.

Project 365 6-21-2010 Editing

I don’t normally fancy myself as an editor.  I understand it and I know my way around most editing software but when it comes to the actual task of editing I prefer to hire someone on who really knows their stuff and can add something to the creative mix.

But when dealing with no budget and when it’s a pretty simple project there’s no reason not to do it myself, so that’s what I did today.  As Wiggy VonSchtick gets back on it’s feet I’ve started branching back out into doing the things that can earn money – even on the small level.  Sizzle reels have been a GREAT success and I’ve been contracted to do a few in just the last couple weeks.  Due to agreements I can’t share contents, but I can say that it has really helped get my creative juices flowing again.  I’ve been so tied up in the business of making movies that I forgot how much fun it is to actually shoot them.  Shooting stuff like this helps me remember.

I’m looking forward to some of the other  projects that we’ll be launching this year.  Things are looking good for Wiggy Web, our new media stuff, and we keep inching closer and closer to getting film funding not only for Cheerleaders Must Die! but a couple of the bigger projects as well!  It’s enough to keep me excited – even when things get beyond frustrating.

Today’s pic is of my edit screen, with a carefully placed flash to hide content:

See you tomorrow!

Project 365 6-14-2010 Masochistic?

Monday.

Woke up.

Dressed for the gym.

Opened my email and saw an update about the an important deal memo.

All hope of going to the gym was lost for the morning.

There is a special level of hell where the damned are forced to read contracts and deal memos over and over again looking for how they are getting screwed.  I have a condo in this level of hell and willingly travel there as often as I can, there is no way to do what I want to do without having to go through this tedious and all too often disappointing ordeal.  I was saved from the more agonizing parts by just being sent the deal points… and then spent the rest of the morning discussing them with my partners.  After a lot of discussion and a scheduled conference call it looks like there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

I wish that all the deal we’re working right now could have this kind of momentum!

Afterward I had to run some footage for editing over to the editor.  The thumb with the data is today’s pic:

It’s nice to be shooting again.  I’m gonna’ keep this going as long as possible.  On a side note I do think it’s pretty amazing that technology has advanced so far that all of the footage I need can be put on a drive that is smaller than my thumb.  Technology is cool.

See you tomorrow!
